Toyota Kirloskar launches limited edition Etios and Liva


CHENNAI: Festival season is just round the corner and Motown is in launch mode. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the New Etios Xclusive and Etios Liva Xclusive Limited Edition on Monday to mark the one lakh sales of the Etios and the second anniversary of the Etios Liva. Only 2000 exclusive units of the limited edition vehicle will be sold till the month of November 2013, the company said in a statement.

Volkswagen launches Polo GT TDI at Rs 8.08 lakh in India


CHENNAI: With the festival season less than a month away, car companies have started rolling out new launches, facelifts and variants. The latest to join the launch bandwagon is Volkswagen which launched the new Polo GT TDI on Friday. With its 1.6 L 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which produces 77 kW/105 PS and 250 Nm of torque, the Polo GT TDI is the most powerful diesel hatchback in its segment and has been engineered to provide both performance and fuel economy. The Volkswagen Polo GT TDI is priced at Rs 8.08 lakh, ex showroom, Delhi. 

Ford recalls 1.66 lakh units of Figo, Classic


NEW DELHI: In the biggest vehicle recall in the country, Ford India on Friday said it is recalling 1,66,021 units of best selling compact Figo and Classic sedan to rectify problems related to steering and rear suspension. The recall will impact different batches of Figo and Classic models manufactured between January 2010 and June 2012. "Ford India is extending its existing voluntary Field Service Action (FSA) and will recall the remaining batches of Ford Figo and Ford Classic models to inspect them for potential issues related to the Rear Twist Beam (RTB) and the Power Assisted Steering (PAS) Hose," Ford India said in a statement.

Jaguar C-X17 SUV Concept revealed

Skoda Octavia sedan ready to roll next month, to cost below R 15 lakhs

Skoda has launched its all-new premium sedan, the New Skoda Octavia in India. The car is expected to make a debut on Indian roads this Diwali.

This sedan impressed the Indian market in 2001, and this year it is expected to revive its old charm. “The Legend is coming back” says an excited Skoda about this luxury addition to its range of Fabia, Rapid, Laura. Yeti, Superb in India.

This new Octavia has better leg room, sports high functionality and incorporation of latest technology. This will however not count in the ultimate luxury segment, as profusion of chrome highlights and wood panelling are missing in the new car. But sophisticated interiors of the car show a new touch screen and audio system, which is compatible with USB, Bluetooth, SD card and iPod connectivity. 

 The car offers mid-class qualities for the price of a compact car. "The new Octavia is a great car that meets the needs of Indian customers perfectly: lots of space, modern design, excellent quality and advanced technology at an affordable price," says Werner Eichhorn, Skoda Board Member for Sales and Marketing.
