Computer peripherals maker iBall has launched its first Android-powered
projector smartphone Andi 4a Projector in the Indian market.
The smartphone has been priced at INR 18,999 and is already available for
pre-order on Flipkart for INR 17,999 (after INR 1,000 discount on MRP).
iBall Andi 4a Projector runs on Android 4.1 and is powered by 1GHz dual-core
cortex-A9 processor. The phone comes with 35 Lumens projector that can deliver
480x640p output up to a distance of 8 to 10 feet. The company is also bundling a
free tripod with the phone to make it easier for projecting content.
Among other specs, the Andi 4a packs a 4-inch display, 8MP rear camera, VGA
front camera, microSD card slot, 512MB of RAM and 1500 mAh battery. The battery
seems low for a phone that comes with a built-in projector and we are not sure
if the phone will able to last for a long time with such meagre battery while
projecting something.
In addition, the phone sports dual-SIM support and the usual connectivity
options. Projector smartphones are not something new in the Android arena but we
are yet to see one succeed. Even smartphone giant Samsung has tried launching
its Galaxy Beam projector phone two times but it didn’t find too many
takers..
In related news, iBall’s another Android phone Andi 4a
Radium is now available online for INR 6990. The smartphone can be
purchased from various retailers including Snapdeal.com.
The smartphone comes with similar specifications to that of Andi 4a apart
from the missing projector and 1450 mAh battery instead of 1500 mAh
